How can complex scholarship information be transformed into an engaging narrative for high school students?

Oeiras Municipality manages one of Portugal’s largest and most impactful scholarship programs, supporting thousands of students, many from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, in pursuing their educational goals. The challenge was to develop an animation that simplified the program’s details while motivating students to seize these transformative opportunities.

We created a dynamic, character-driven animation where each character represents one of the available scholarships. Portrayed as relatable high school students, they guide viewers through an inspiring journey of growth, ambition, and the power of education.

To captivate a young audience, the animation features vibrant colors, playful patterns, and engaging visuals. Each scholarship was brought to life through distinct characters:

• Social Scholarships: Supporting students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Merit Scholarships: Rewarding exceptional academic achievements.
• PALOP Scholarships: Empowering students from Portuguese-speaking African countries.

With an uplifting and humorous tone, the animation highlights success stories, motivating students to embrace these life-changing opportunities and take the next step in their academic journey.
